2009 NCNR/NSF Summer School Housing Information
Registration for the Summer School will be on June 21st, 2009 from 4-7 pm. Please, plan your trip accordingly.

Accepted students will be asked to contact the hotel directly to make reservations. Students should arrive on Sunday, June 21nd and leave Friday, June 26th. Reservations must be made on or before May 22nd, 2009. When making reservations students should state that they will be attending the NIST NCNR Summer School and that they are entitled to the special room rate.
Lodging expenses incurred by staying overnight on Friday, June 26th will not be reimbursed by the summer school, unless preapproved. Please contact Julie Keyser prior to making your travel arrangements to obtain approval.
The room rate includes a daily buffet style breakfast and two dinners (Monday & Wednesday). The hotel provides shuttle service to and from the Shady Grove Metro station until 7:30 p.m. Shuttle reservations should be made with the hotel a day in advance.
Air Travel and Car Rental:
Participants that have been approved for financial assistance should follow the instructions in the Financial Assistance Information. Participants not approved for financial assistance should make their own arrangements.
There are three major airports in the Baltimore/Washington DC area; Reagan National Airport (DCA), Washington Dulles Airport (IAD) and Baltimore/Washington International (BWI).
Transportation between the airport and hotel:
For students flying into Reagan National or Dulles, the Washington DC Metro is a good option. Reagan National has a subway station located at the terminal. A short bus ride takes you to a subway station from Dulles. To arrive at the Shady Grove Station on the "Red Line" takes roughly 60 minutes from either airport. Please check WMATA for the most recent schedule and fare information.
Van service is available to Gaithersburg from all three major airports. Quotes given below may not be the most up-to-date fare information. Please call for current rates.

Transportation between the hotel and NIST:
