Housing:

We have reserved a block of rooms at the Sleep Inn, 2 Research Court, Rockville, Maryland, arriving June 25 and departing June 30, at the NIST rate of $79 (plus 12% tax) per night. Accepted students will be asked to contact the hotel directly to make reservations. Reservations must be made on or before May 16, 2005. When making reservations students should state that they will be attending the NIST NCNR Summer School, and that they are entitled to the special room rate. Lodging expenses incurred by staying overnight on Friday, June 30 will not be reimbursed by the summer school. Exceptions will be made only in cases where the student is unable to return home on the 30th. These exceptions must be approved in advance.

The room rate includes a Continental breakfast. The hotel provides shuttle service to and from the Shady Grove Metro station until 9 p.m. Shuttle reservations should be made a day in advance.

Transportation between airport and hotel:

Van service to Gaithersburg from Reagan National, BWI (Baltimore-Washington International) and Dulles airports is available from Federal Airport Shuttle (1-301-721-2929, 1-866-721-2929), or from Super Shuttle (1-800-258-3826) for roughly $25. Reservations are not needed for the Super Shuttle.

The Washington Metro has subway service to Gaithersburg from Reagan National Airport. The travel time from Reagan National Airport to the Shady Grove station in Gaithersburg, which is the terminus of the "Red Line", is roughly 60 minutes. A one-way ticket costs $2.35 during off peak hours (9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 2 a.m.), $3.90 during peak hours (opening to 9:30 a.m., 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and 2 a.m. to closing). NIST and local hotels are a short taxi ride from the Shady Grove station or you may call the Sleep Inn for a shuttle pickup (before 9 p.m.).

Transportation between hotel and NIST:

We intend to provide a NIST vehicle to pick up attendees at the Sleep Inn each morning, and return them to the hotel in the late afternoon.
