GSAS Nickel example using EXPGUI (part 8)

8. Run GENLES

At this point, we are ready to run GENLES to perform a least-squares refinement. GENLES can be run from the appropriate button on the button bar, by typing Alt-G, or using the GENLES command in the Powder or Xtal menus. genles command
As soon as GENLES is started, a box appears on the screen showing the refinement status. (See below).
refinement status

liveplot As the refinement progresses, the LIVEPLOT window automatically updates, where the contents have previously been described.
load new When GENLES is finished and the window is closed, press "Load new" to cause the revised .EXP file to be read. (Pressing "Continue editing" would reject the results of the refinement.)
lst file To examine the results of the refinement in more detail, consult the .LST file. This can be examined using the LSTVIEW program. This program is shown above. Like LIVEPLOT, LSTVIEW is updated as the refinement progresses.
The GSAS tutorial in the manual demonstrates use of POWPLOT to look at other aspects of the data, such as error analysis. This can be done by pressing the POWPLOT button or accessing POWPLOT from the menu bar.
