Accommodations/Travel

The symposium venue is the Sheraton Maui Resort, Kaanapali Beach in Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii. As such, accommodations for this symposium were facilitated by the Sheraton Maui Resort. The symposium organizers originally signed a contract guaranteeing that a certain number of rooms would be booked by participants. As such, the negotiated room rates were significantly discounted from the normal rates. As of early September, 2006, there were ~20 rooms still available in the MH2006 allotment. At this point, the organizers relinquished the rooms back to the Sheraton, so as to be no longer financially responsible for filling them. The Sheraton Reservations website dedicated to MH2006 has been subsequently removed. If participants still need to reserve a room, the Sheraton Maui Resort may still be offering the reduced MH2006 rate, but they must be called directly at 808-921-4645 (Reservations Department).

To arrive on the island of Maui, most participants will fly into the Kahului (OGG) or Kapalua-West Maui (JHM) airports.

When making reservations, please reference meeting ID code 539TL.
