Current

Staff chemist at the NIST center for Neutron Research, where I am an instrument scientist for the DCS Spectrometer and significantly involved with various aspects of the EERE hydrogen storage program where neutrons are an exceptional asset. I previously managed the NCNR efforts in the DoE/EERE Hydrogen Sorbtion Center of Excellence, sitting on the Steering Committee and co-leading the Strong Binding of Hydrogen sub-project with Dan Neumann and NREL.

Awards

Aug 2010: Recipient of the 2010 Department of Commerce Silver Medal for exceptional performance characterized by noteworthy or superlative contributions, which have a direct and lasting impact within the Department.

March 2010: Winner of the 2010 Neutron Scattering Society of America Science Prize with honorarium.

July 9 2009: Recipient of the 2008 Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE).
This is the highest honor bestowed by the United States government on young professionals in the early stages of their independent research careers and quite an amazing recognition of the environment and support I have benefited from whilst working at the NCNR and reflects upon the creativity and abilities of all of my collaborators.
