Novel Concepts in Interfacial Reaction and Engineering for the Template Synthesis of Nanomaterials, and Dynamic Control of Cell-Biomaterial Interfaces
Prof. Carlos Co, Department of Chemical & Materials Engineering, University of Cincinnati
This presentation will be an overview of interfacial reaction and engineering research activities and will touch upon the novel concepts of: (1) Complex Glasses, (2) Interfacial Alternating Radical Copolymerization, and (3) Polyelectrolyte-based Micropatterning of Multiple Cell Types, that address, respectively, fundamental challenges in the template synthesis of nanomaterials, encapsulation in sub-micron liquid-core capsules, and dynamic control of cell- biomaterial interfaces for tissue engineering applications.
