7/7/03-7/11/03 Base, detector arm, optical rails, and aperture installation and alignment.

The three electrical power breaker panels are completed.

The base shim plate is installed and shutter aperture plate is in place. The theodolite will be used to locate the beam centerline so that the aperture can be machined.

The Base assembly has been bolted to the floor over the shim plate.

The 2-theta goniometer is attached to the base assembly.

The 2-theta arm is attached.

The aperture plate is machined, backed with borated Aluminum, and installed.

A blank aperture insert is used to help set the theodolite. The 2-theta arm, the upstream (shown) and downstream optical rails, and detector platform are aligned. Also, lead ballast has been installed in the counterbalance chamber.

The detector and shielding are installed. Also shown is the downstream optical rail.
