Summer School on the Fundamentals of Neutron Scattering
The NIST Center for Neutron Research, in conjuction with CHRNS, puts on an annual Summer School on the Fundamentals of Neutron Scattering. The target audience are researchers in United States academia and industry who wish to use neutrons for their research but have little or no background in the methods used at the NCNR.
The focus of the summer school alternates from year-to-year between elastic and inelastic neutron scattering. The Summer School on Methods and Applications of Small Angle Neutron Scattering and Neutron Reflectivity focuses on elastic scattering and occurs during even numbered years. The Summer School on Methods and Applications of Neutron Spectroscopy focuses on inelastic neutron scattering methods and occurs during odd numbered years.
The 2010 Summer School on Methods and Applications of Small Angle Neutron Scattering and Neutron Reflectivity took place from May 10 through May 14. The next summer school, on Neutron Spectroscopy, will be hosted in June 2011. Applications are now being accepted.
