Jeff Lynn wins Presidential Rank Award

Jeff Lynn

Jeffrey W. Lynn, a NIST Fellow and physicist at the NIST Center for Neutron Research, has won the Presidential Rank Award of Distinguished Senior Professional, one of the highest honors accorded to employees of the United States government. The Award recognizes individuals who have an exceptional record of achieving major program goals, and who are consistently recognized nationally and internationally as leaders in their fields.

Jeff has developed and applied triple-axis neutron spectroscopy to many areas of condensed matter physics, with multiple contributions to the understanding of high-temperature superconductors, colossal magneto-resistance in materials, and magnetism across a wide range of crystalline solids. Such materials are fundamentally important to present and future technologies.
