NIST CENTER FOR NEUTRON RESEARCH
NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF STANDARDS AND TECHNOLOGYThe NIST Center for Neutron Research (NCNR) is interested in highly qualified applicants with experience in engineering design and project leadership. The NCNR operates a world-class neutron scattering research facility in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Duties would include engineering design, procurement documentation, interaction with outside contractors during component acquisition, tracking team progress, and interfacing with technical staff to coordinate installation and testing activities. While team leadership is a major function of this position, no direct supervisory duties are required.
Ideal candidates would hold a BS Degree (or higher) from an accredited institution in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, five years of experience in the engineering field, direct experience or knowledge of machine design, strong organizational skills, strong leadership skills, and a strong ability to interpret and compose technical documentation. Consideration shall be given to individuals with experience in procurement and acquisition under a competitive source selection process similar to that in use by the Government. Only U.S. citizens will be considered.
