The bottom loading Big Blue is similar in operation to the CT dewar, but adds ³He capabilities to reach a lower base temperature. This system is also more difficult to use than a normal CT dewar and therefore requires the assistance of a qualified user. A tail set containing two quartz windows can be fit after loading a sample for use in a SANS experiment. This cryostat is also useful for its large sample space compared to other low temperature systems.
