This cryostat is similar to an Orange Cryostat except that it is bottom instead of top loading. This has the disadvantage of making the preparation process more time consuming and a sample change while cold impossible. There are, however, some advantages as well. The sample space is large and sample mounting is easy because of the standard mounting disc. A tail set with quartz windows designed for SANS can be used to substantially decrease the aluminum in the beam. This system is an ideal choice for low temperature SANS experiments as well as high pressure experiments using the large clamp cell (< 2.5GPa)
