The 50mm Orange Cryostat is basically a 70mm with a smaller sample well diameter and a much smaller diameter tailset. This allows the 50mm to fit into almost all the instruments. Where as a 70mm bolts directly to the top of the Huber table a 50mm mounts to the same adapter plate as a CCR. There are two 50mm's available for use at the NCNR. Until recently a dilution frig. insert was available for use with this cryostat, but it is now out of service.

Other Capabilities

The capabilities stated so far have been for operation in the standard setup. When using a special setup these capabilities may change, however, many special setups have been used with success. Some of these include: gas handling, transport measurements, high pressure, etc. Any special setups should be discussed with the sample environment staff before being scheduled.
