This is a top loading 3He system with a normal temperature range of 300mK - 300K. It is somewhat unique in that the sample stick is flanked by two 3He inserts which both cool the stick at various points on its length. The two are necessary to provide adequate cooling for the top loading stick. There is no magnetic field available for use with this cryostat.
